जाने वाला सबसे बड़ा त्योहार है। दीपों का खास पर्व होने के कारण इसे दीपावली या दिवाली नाम दिया गया। दीपावली का मतलब होता है, दीपों की अवली यानि पंक्ति। इस प्रकार दीपों की पंक्तियों से सुसज्ज‍ित इस त्योहार को दीपावली कहा जाता है। कार्तिक माह की अमावस्या को मनाया जाने वाला यह महापर्व, अंधेरी रात को असंख्य दीपों की रौशनी से प्रकाशमय कर देता है। दीप जलाने की प्रथा के पीछे अलग-अलग कारण या कहानियां हैं। हिंदू मान्यताओं में राम भक्तों के अनुसार कार्तिक अमावस्या को भगवान श्री रामचंद्रजी चौदह वर्ष का वनवास काटकर तथा असुरी वृत्तियों के प्रतीक रावणादि का संहार करके अयोध्या लौटे थे।  तब अयोध्यावासियों ने राम के राज्यारोहण पर दीपमालाएं जलाकर महोत्सव मनाया था। इसीलिए दीपावली हिंदुओं के प्रमुख त्योहारों में से एक है। कृष्ण भक्तिधारा के लोगों का मत है कि इस दिन भगवान श्री कृष्ण ने अत्याचारी राजा नरकासुर का वध किया था। इस नृशंस राक्षस के वध से जनता में अपार हर्ष फैल गया और प्रसन्नता से भरे लोगों ने घी के दीए जलाए। एक पौराणिक कथा के अनुसार विंष्णु ने नरसिंह रुप धारणकर हिरण्यकश्यप का वध किया था तथा इसी दिन समुद्रमंथन के पश्चात लक्ष्मी व धन्वंतरि प्रकट हुए। जैन मतावलंबियों के अनुसार चौबीसवें तीर्थंकर महावीर स्वामी का निर्वाण दिवस भी दीपावली को ही है। सिक्खों के लिए भी दीवाली महत्त्वपूर्ण है क्योंकि इसी दिन ही अमृतसर में 1577 में स्वर्ण मन्दिर का शिलान्यास हुआ था। इसके अलावा 1619 में दीवाली के दिन सिक्खों के छठे गुरु हरगोबिन्द सिंह जी को जेल से रिहा किया गया था।  नेपालियों के लिए यह त्योहार इसलिए महान है क्योंकि इस दिन से नेपाल संवत में नया वर्ष शुरू होता है। पंजाब में जन्मे स्वामी रामतीर्थ का जन्म व महाप्रयाण दोनों दीपावली के दिन ही हुआ। इन्होंने दीपावली के दिन गंगातट पर स्नान करते समय 'ओम' कहते हुए समाधि ले ली। महर्षि दयानंद ने भारतीय संस्कृति के महान जननायक बनकर दीपावली के दिन अजमेर के निकट अवसान लिया। इन्होंने आर्य समाज की स्थापना की।  हिंदुओं में इस दिन लक्ष्मी के पूजन का विशेष विधान है। रात्रि के समय प्रत्येक घर में धनधान्य की अधिष्ठात्री देवी महालक्ष्मीजी,विघ्न-विनाशक गणेश जी और विद्या एवं कला की देवी मातेश्वरी सरस्वती देवी की पूजा-आराधना की जाती है ब्रह्मपुराण के अनुसार कार्तिक अमावस्या की इस अंधेरी रात्रि अर्थात अर्धरात्रि में महालक्ष्मी स्वयं भूलोक में आती हैं और प्रत्येक सद्गृहस्थ के घर में विचरण करती हैं। जो घर हर प्रकार से स्वच्छ, शुद्ध और सुंदर तरीके से सुसज्जित और प्रकाशयुक्त होता है वहां अंश रूप में ठहर जाती हैं और गंदे स्थानों की तरफ देखती भी नहीं।  इसलिए इस दिन घर-बाहर को ख़ूब साफ-सुथरा करके सजाया-संवारा जाता है। कहा जाता है कि दीपावली मनाने से लक्ष्मीजी प्रसन्न होकर स्थायी रूप से सदगृहस्थों के घर निवास करती हैं। त्योहारों का जो वातावरण धनतेरस से प्रारम्भ होता है,वह इस दिन पूरे चरम पर आता है। यह पर्व अलग-अलग नाम और विधानों से पूरी दुनिया में मनाया जाता है। इसका एक कारण यह भी कि इसी दिन अनेक विजयश्री युक्त कार्य हुए हैं।  बहुत से शुभ कार्यों का प्रारम्भ भी इसी दिन से माना गया है। इसी दिन उज्जैन के सम्राट विक्रमादित्य का राजतिलक हुआ था। Homes are cleaned, new clothes are bought, a variety of dishes are made.Churches are specially decorated for this day. http://www.gunacab.com/blog/makar-sankranti_7913.htm Fri, 10 Jan 2020 18:37:37 +0530 मकर संक्रांति हे सूर्य! हमें भी अंधकार से प्रकाश की ओर ले चलो...हिंदू धर्म ने माह को दो भागों में बाँटा है- कृष्ण पक्ष और शुक्ल पक्ष। इसी तरह वर्ष को भी दो भागों में बाँट रखा है। पहला उत्तरायण और दूसरा दक्षिणायन। उक्त दो अयन को मिलाकर एक वर्ष होता है। मकर संक्रांति के दिन सूर्य पृथ्वी की परिक्रमा करने की दिशा बदलते हुए थोड़ा उत्तर की ओर ढलता जाता है, इसलिए इस काल को उत्तरायण कहते हैं।सूर्य पर आधारित हिंदू धर्म में मकर संक्रांति का बहुत महत्व माना गया है। वेद और पुराणों में भी इस दिन का विशेष उल्लेख मिलता है। होली, दीपावली, दुर्गोत्सव, शिवरात्रि और अन्य कई त्योहार जहाँ विशेष कथा पर आधारित हैं, वहीं मकर संक्रांति खगोलीय घटना है, जिससे जड़ और चेतन की दशा और दिशा तय होती है। मकर संक्रांति का महत्व हिंदू धर्मावलंबियों के लिए वैसा ही है जैसे वृक्षों में पीपल, हाथियों में ऐरावत और पहाड़ों में हिमालय।सूर्य के धनु से मकर राशि में प्रवेश को उत्तरायण माना जाता है। इस राशि परिवर्तन के समय को ही मकर संक्रांति कहते हैं। यही एकमात्र पर्व है जिसे समूचे भारत में मनाया जाता है, चाहे इसका नाम प्रत्येक प्रांत में अलग-अलग हो और इसे मनाने के तरीके भी भिन्न हों, किंतु यह बहुत ही महत्व का पर्व है।इसी दिन से हमारी धरती एक नए वर्ष में और सूर्य एक नई गति में प्रवेश करता है। वैसे वैज्ञानिक कहते हैं कि 21 मार्च को धरती सूर्य का एक चक्कर पूर्ण कर लेती है तो इस मान ने नववर्ष तभी मनाया जाना चाहिए। इसी 21 मार्च के आसपास ही विक्रम संवत का नववर्ष शुरू होता है और गुड़ी पड़वा मनाया जाता है, किंतु 14 जनवरी ऐसा दिन है, जबकि धरती पर अच्छे दिन की शुरुआत होती है। ऐसा इसलिए कि सूर्य दक्षिण के बजाय अब उत्तर को गमन करने लग जाता है। जब तक सूर्य पूर्व से दक्षिण की ओर गमन करता है तब तक उसकी किरणों का असर खराब माना गया है, लेकिन जब वह पूर्व से उत्तर की ओर गमन करते लगता है तब उसकी किरणें सेहत और शांति को बढ़ाती हैं। मकर संक्रांति के दिन ही पवित्र गंगा नदी का धरती पर अवतरण हुआ था। महाभारत में पितामह भीष्म ने सूर्य के उत्तरायण होने पर ही स्वेच्छा से शरीर का परित्याग किया था, कारण कि उत्तरायण में देह छोड़ने वाली आत्माएँ या तो कुछ काल के लिए देवलोक में चली जाती हैं या पुनर्जन्म के चक्र से उन्हें छुटकारा मिल जाता है। दक्षिणायन में देह छोड़ने पर बहुत काल तक आत्मा को अंधकार का सामना करना पड़ सकता है। सब कुछ प्रकृति के नियम के तहत है, इसलिए सभी कुछ प्रकृति से बद्ध है। पौधा प्रकाश में अच्छे से खिलता है, अंधकार में सिकुड़ भी सकता है। इसीलिए मृत्यु हो तो प्रकाश में हो ताकि साफ-साफ दिखाई दे कि हमारी गति और स्थिति क्या है। क्या हम इसमें सुधार कर सकते हैं?
